OBLIQUE RAIN Parts Ways With Bassist, Announces Replacement
July 13, 2008Portuguese progressive/alternative metallic band OBLIQUE RAIN has announced the departure of bassist Daniel Botelho "due to professional issues." According to a press release, Botelho proved "in the last couple of years to be one of the best Portuguese bass players, [but] his professional projects in the future wouldn't allow him to rehearse, play live and compose with the band as much as both parts would like to. Enter new man David Miguel, who will take care of bass duties in OBLIQUE RAIN from now on, in studio, live performances and in the intense composition process that the band is undergoing at the moment."
OBLIQUE RAIN is "already more than halfway" done with the songwriting process for its new album, entitled "October Dawn", which will be released sometime next year through Major Label Industries.
OBLIQUE RAIN recently announced the addition of drummer Daniel Cardoso (HEAD CONTROL SYSTEM, DEL) to the group's ranks.
The band's debut CD, "Isohyet", came out in 2007.
